I have been really busy, and I haven't had much to say. So, I am married now. If you want to see some pictures, go to www.sjmackyphotography.com. I tried to post some last week, but it was taking a really long time and then it booted me out.
I pretty much hate my job. I work constantly, I am on call constantly and I hardly ever get to see my husband. I think he hates it more than I do, but I have to stay strong at least until July when my apprenticeship is over. I don't hate the work part of it, I just hate the fact that I am never home. There are some other things that I dislike, I just won't go into detail on this blog.
We put our house up on craigslist. We haven't had any responses, but I don't think Scott is very adament about re-posting daily. If you're looking to buy a house, let me know.
We have a new President! Awesome! Scott and I are very excited about the outcome of the election. It really is the change that this country is in such desperate need of.
See, I told you that I didn't really have much to talk about.

2 weeks!

Yep, that's right 2 weeks until the wedding. Not only is it 2 weeks until the wedding and the honeymoon, (which I am very excited about) but it's also 2 weeks until I can get all of my hair cut off. I am extremely excited about this. I have been growing my hair out for a little over 2 years now and I cannot stand it. It drives me nuts. It is so unbelievably thick and wavy and lion-like, I just want to get rid of it. I am thinkingof going with a swing bob, like Jenny McCarthy.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_f2tHrHVh0f0/SLiyN7P6XlI/AAAAAAAAAC4/wk8zHmB6js8/s320/jenny-mccarthy.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5240134118758047314" />

What do you think?

Happy Birthday Scotty!!

Scotty turns the big 3-0 today. Well, I am not sure if I just have bad luck or I just pick really shitty friends. Two of my bridesmaids are basically MIA. I have not received any money for their bridesmaids dresses, they didn't bother to show up to my shower and I have not heard from either of them in a good 2 months now. I am not angry at them, I am just a little hurt. Scott and I have been engaged now for 19 months. I asked both of these girls to be part of our special day in month one of our engagement. They've had plenty of time to save $105 for their dresses and/or back out altogether. I am not asking much from any of my bridesmaids, just maybe a phone call every once in awhile, or to return my calls and to pay for their own dresses. I am paying for their hair and makeup and I told all of the bridal party not to get us any gifts. IMO their presence is present enough.

On the bright side of things, I have 2 wonderful girls who I've asked to step in for them and they are more than willing, they are actually happy to do it. Which makes me feel that not all is lost. Afterall, I'd rather have people who actually care about Scott and I stand up for us anyway. These girls will be in my life for a long time and I am thankful to have them in my life.

I haven't told the other two bridesmaids that they have been replaced yet, they will have to find out when they return one of my phone calls.

I know, I suck...

At updating this blog. I have been so extremely busy lately. I started my new job just about a month ago and it takes up alot of my time. I am on a rotating schedule, so I am never working the same days every week, but every other week is the same. I work 10 hour days, from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm and I am on call about 10 nights a month. I really like the job so far and I cannot wait until my license comes back so I can start embalming. All of my co-workers are really nice and helpful. I have made a few mistakes, but I am still new at this. Scott seems to be having a difficult time with the hours of the new job. On my on-call nights I stay at my parents house because they live closer to the funeral home and he is having a hard time with that too. I think he is starting to realize that this is what I have to do for at least the year that I will be an apprentice. I will be getting alot of experience and will learn a ton here. Funeral service is a 24 hour a day job.

Other than working, I have been getting alot of wedding stuff done as well. My showers was on June 22nd, and it was awesome. Most of my friends and family were there. It really touched my heart how many people showed up. Invites are going out today!! I ordered my favors and started making contacts about getting my dress altered. Scott and I started out pre-marital counseling sessions with our Pastor, which are 4 one hour sessions. I am almost done with all of this wedding stuff and it feels great. I am sooo ready! I have to pick out a cake and just a few more small things. Everything is really coming together. Wedding day is almost here!

3 MONTHS!!!

Scott and I are getting married 3 months from today! It started out horribly with the loss of my Papa on January 2nd. I then lost my job on February 3rd. I was in my last semester of Mortuary school which isn't exactly easy. I had projects and homework, tests and quizzes out the ying yang. In March, my other Grandpa went into the hospital with congestive heart failure. He ended up contracting a nosocomial infection while being treated and ended up passing the first week in May. After the funeral, things actually start looking up. School ends, I graduate. I get offered not one, but two jobs at really great funeral homes! I had my 26th birthday. I take both sections on my National Board Exams and pass. Oh yeah, I failed to mention that I am planning a wedding while all of this is going on. Ridiculous, I know.
Botom line, I would not trade my life for anything. I love my Electrician, I love my dogs and cat, I love my friends and family, I love my career choice, I could use a new car but that's another post.

Busy weekend!

Saturday was my birthday! I am the big 2-6! For my birthday, Scott and I went and picked out tuxes for the wedding. Very exciting! I also got a pedicure and went tanning. Scott got me Season 7 of CSI, which was exactly what I wanted.
Along with it being my birthday, it was also the lovely Ellen and Jeremy's wedding day! I, along with Sherry, Chole, and Lynn had the privledge of sharing this wonderful event with them. It's a full time position, the money is great for an apprentice and I will get a ton of experience! I'm really excited because I didn't think I'd get the job. A few of my classmates also interviewed for the position, so I was extremely nervous. I start in a few weeks!

Woo Hoo!!

I finally made it! We are going out of town on Thursday for a tour of the Batesville Casket Co. and we'll be back on Friday. We have a Pathology test next week and then finals the week after. I have 2 graduation celebrations and the graduation ceremony all in a weeks time. I also have to schedule my board exams sometime in there and find a job. I am excited about being finished with school, but I am also very sad. I've spent almost everyday for the past 2 years with the same people, and I love every single one of them. Some more than others of course, but I love them none the less. I have made some of my very best friends in the Funeral Service Education Program. Friends that I know I will continue to stay close to for the rest of my life. It will be extremely hard for me not to see these people everyday. Hopefully some of them will make it to the wedding. My 2 bestest friends from the program are bridesmaids, so I know I'll at least see them.
Here's some pictures of me and my friends Morgan and Tara!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_f2tHrHVh0f0/SA0iIxilIlI/AAAAAAAAABA/N5VHKLu9guo/s320/CIMG0109.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5191843479560725074" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_f2tHrHVh0f0/SA0iJBilImI/AAAAAAAAABI/cNTV48ZhFIw/s320/CIMG0108.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5191843483855692386" />

Slacker!

Yeah, I am talking about myself! I have been extremely busy lately and have not been able to update this thing. Here are a few updates to tide you over until I can write something meaningful...
-My wedding gown came in, and I pick it up tomorrow. I may post pics and I may not. I haven't decided yet.
-I was informed that Bopp Chapel (my practicum site) will not be hiring an apprentice this time around. I guess with all of the building updates they are doing, they just don't have the funds to pay someone right now.
-I have been scrambling to get some sort of resume together in order to find an apprenticeship.
-I am still waiting for addresses from my mom and from Scott so I can send out my beautiful save the dates.

I'm finally done...

With my research paper! After a bajillion hours of resarch and typing, I'm finally done. My wrist and back are killing me! It has been awhile since I've had to write that much. In case anyone's curious I did my research paper on Lymphoma. Most of you know that I lost my PaPa to Non-Hodgkins lymphoma in January and that is the reason that I decided to learn more about it. I let them outside for a minute while I grab a snack and then I go back to check on them. Tank is running around the backyard like a crazy dog and it looks like something is attached to his back leg. He storms in the house when I realize that it's not attached to his back leg but its hanging out of his ass! He continues to run around the house while he's being chased by the ginormous paper towel that is hanging out of his butt. Eventually he settles down long enough for me to wrap my hand in a clean paper towel and slowly pull the 4 paper towels out of his bunghole. If you could only see the relief in his sweet little boxer eyes. In honor of Tanks sweet relief, here's a list of other things he's eaten;
1. cat turds
2. chapstick
3. remote control
4. bed sheets
5. used condom
6. tampons
7. pens
8. loofas

Retail Hell....

I started my new job this week and I quit my new job this week! The job was just not me. I am not a "people" person. I have a hard time hounding people to sign up for a credit card when I know that they probably don't need it. I did start getting my unemployment this week, so I guess I'll ride that out for awhile until I find something that suits me.
On a better note, my bridesmaids and I went on Saturday and picked out dresses! What a relief! The dresses retail for about $220 but if we go through an online discount shop, we can get them for around $135. I think that's a pretty sweet deal. Best news of all is that all of the girls that went LOVED the dress and the style will look great on all of their figures.
